This was a show that was first put on in Dublin in 2000 at St.Andrews Lane Theatre and garnered the following review from The Irish Times
‘Convulsed with laughter from start to finish…that’s showbiz!’. Newspaper review below.
I directed that version and then re-staged it at Jermyn Street Theatre in London in 2002 playing the lead. You can do that when it’s your show! It had a dose of bad luck. On tech day, the super efficient and lovely stage manager Saira whilst coming to work, slipped on a milk shake and broke her arm. Despite a valiant attempt by a stand in it was apparent that we would have to cancel the first night as we’d not finished the tech, which we duly did. Unfortunately this meant that all the critics were cancelled. Tho an internet magazine came on the friday and awarded us ‘I laughed so much I wet myself’.
So in fact the show could go on again, as no one in England has really seen it! Here are some clips from the English version:
This is ‘In Love with Me’ from the show:
This is Lies
This is We Love Him So
This is I’m a Dentist
This Get Better Get Well
Here’s another review, this time from the Stage:
